Activities

Estonian Olympic Committee is the umbrella organization of Estonian sports and hence responsible not only for the preparations and participation in Olympic Games, European Games and youth Olympic events but also for the overall elite sports system and development.

We work hard to enable elite athletes to focus on sports while being a positive role model in the society. We aim for elite athletes to receive a good education, providing scholarships in cooperation with Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. In cooperation with Estonian Defence Forces we ensure our male athletes can fulfill their duty to the country with military service while continuing their sports career.

As elite sports and science are partnering together more than ever, we also annually finance sport science projects.

To ensure clean sports, we have established Foundation Estonian Anti-Doping, and to provide high-quality medical services to our athletes, the Sports Medicine Foundation.

In addition to Olympic preparation grants and youth sport grants, we also pay athletes bonuses and support for medals won from Olympic Games or international championships.

Estonian Olympic Committee is also in charge of organizing the highly anticipated end-of-year annual sport TV-gala "Stars of the Sports Year", where awards for the athletes and coaches of the year are presented.
